About CSIHME

Our Mission

The Committee to Save Independent Home Medical Equipment suppliers (or CSIHME) is a non-profit business league formed by independent HME providers for the purpose of advancing the agenda, needs, and value of the independent HME provider community through focused lobbying efforts and public relations activities. In short, CSIHME wants to give a voice to the people who have committed their lives to helping others through Home Medical Equipment and supplies.

Our Purpose

To meet this objective, CSIHME will retain a lobbyist and a publicist to assist in the creation and delivery of the message of the independent HME industry to Congress through direct and indirect action designed to assure that independent HME providers are a vital part of the future of homecare.

Our Efforts

CSIHME through lobbying efforts will:

• Seek the input and support from the broad provider community.
• Use the views of the majority of providers in choosing the message and direction of CSIHME.
• As our initial founding message, CSIHME will:
• Seek total repeal of the 36-month cap on oxygen payments.
• Seek total repeal of competitive bidding for DME.
• Take other steps as directed by the LAB.
• Ensure that the needs and desires of the independent provider community are known and understood by members of Congress.
• Ensure that independent providers have a seat at the table for any movement to reform any part of the DMEPOS benefit.

CSIHME through public relations efforts will:

• Advance the value of homecare and HME through positive editorial commentary in national media.
• Ensure the message of independent HME providers reached members of Congress through Washington media channels.
• Provide generic PR materials to HME providers at no cost for use in their local markets to promote the value of homecare and HME.
• Produce documents, presentations, and videos for use by HME providers to promote their businesses and value to their community.
